Almost at the end of the season, mathematically a very important one point needed for United to secure a fourth place finish to enter the qualifying period of the Champions League. Though our superior goal difference probably means even if we loose both games (Arsenal and Hull City) we can still remain in fourth.
So, there are only two games left, and then only the summer to enjoy with the offseason and the transfer window. I expect us doing business at the beginning, with some of the big names leaving Old Trafford – and new ones arriving.
Well, gameweek 37 predictions, as ever, feel free to post yours.
I can’t really write anything, so this time I’m just gonna post the table.
OK, no, it’s quite a good match ahead, Palace away, they are in twelfth position, rather secure – but remember last year, when Liverpool thought the same? They lost their title to them. Anyway, we can win and we can loose the 4th place by the time the game finishes at Stamford Bridge.
So, if there is a must win game, then this one is.
But then, on the other hand, we seem to be heading for a nice pre-window, as we seem to be doing our business before it, so that the deals are finalized prior to the opening of transfer season. Good news, really, with Depay coming in July at the beginning of the tour and the pre-season.
And there’s more to follow, as we are said.
And my team, I was really tempted to leave de Gea out, because he’s just…, I don’t know, I don’t understand this situation with his contract. He should make up his mind and clear it completely. I would go for di Maria, to have an attacking line-up, and give it all we can.
So, here we go again, back in fourth position – and with our problems resurfaced again. You can have the ball for ages if you can’t really create and if you can’t score from the low number of created chances.
When Rooney or the midfielders are on fire, we can win games, but without a prolific striker, that’s hard. Van Persie, Rooney, Falcao they could all do that for us – but not forever and not constantly. Anyway, new week, new battle, this time versus West Brom at home, where we must win, no doubt about that – and hope the others get tricked somehow.
By the way, Villa have almost done it for us at the Etihad Stadium.
OK, let’s see this week’s predictions, picture of my team later.
With three matches still missing from last week’s round – there’s no full table for that one.
But the next one is on the corner, so that’s it, here we go again. This time it’s Everton away for ManUtd, where winning is a must, there can’t be no other result. Can it be done? Of course. Will it be tough? Of course.
Last year they did the double on us, and they did that with their counterpart on Merseyside – but now we are in pole position to that to them, we only need to beat the Toffies on Sunday.
On the other hand we need Chelsea to do a favour for us and beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, because City will probably beat Aston Villa quite easily.
And, as it is the 34th round, there’s only four more – so the summer draught is coming, unfortunately.
Let’s see our predictions, feel free to post yours!
Another week, another derby – here comes the Chelsea game. If anything is tough, then this definitely is. Chelsea is in a very good form – although we’ve already seen them playing better even in this season, but never mind – they are in front on the table, United don’t really have the chance to overtake them. Well, not this season, really.
But this is another chance to show what we are made of, and another good result would mean a lot to the supporters and would mean a lot in the race for the CL places.
Let’s suggest that Arsenal will beat Sunderland, no doubt about that. If we win, no problem, Arsenal one point ahead. If we draw, Arsenal will be three points ahead, and that’s exactly one win, so we should beat them when the two teams meet later in May. If we loose, that will be four points, and we still travel to Everton, with a tough game, and to Palace and Hull – and those are tricky ones, as City might just have realized.
As for City, who can beat West Ham this weekend, well, they can be only two points behind us after the weekend in case of a draw.
It’s hard to win at Stamford Bridge, even when you are in a good form like United – but we can’t loose, that’s for sure.
Here are our predictions, last week my daughter won, so it is 3-2 with me in the lead but she’s better than expected.
So, what a game and what a weekend, the last one – beating Aston Villa and celebrating Easter with ham and beer (and some spirits as well…)
Anyway, if I say the biggest day and game of the season is just approaching I don’t make a huge mistake, do I?
United’s form is very good, while City are in a kind of trouble, dropping back to fourth place and if they loose, they will be four points behind the reds. Recently City dominated the meetings between the two, but the advantage seems to be on United’s side now – not only because of the result they provide but mostly because of the way they played.
Beating Suprs, ‘Pool, Villa and Newcastle (although that game wasn’t close to the other three) is a great achievement from LVG’s men but this was only the appetizer for the next two main courses, City and Chelsea.
